Enjoy a Comfortable Pregnancy Through Chiropractic

Pregnancy brings with it amazing changes in a woman’s body over a very short period of time. As her baby grows, the mother’s body adapts in almost miraculous ways to accommodate the change. Unfortunately, shifts in center of gravity and changes in pelvic posture can spell back pain and discomfort for many expectant moms, and make even simple daily activities a real challenge. The good news – chiropractic can help!

A study by the American Medical Association found that women who received regular chiropractic care during their third trimester carried and delivered with more comfort. Other studies showed that first-time moms who were adjusted regularly had a 24% reduction in labor time, while mothers carrying their second or third child had labor times that were 39% shorter than those not receiving chiropractic. Chiropractic care during pregnancy has also been shown to reduce the need for analgesics by half during delivery.

The benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy include:

  • Decreased back and pelvic pain
  • Increased comfort & ease with natural changes related to pregnancy
  • Increased pelvic space facilitating the baby’s growth, labor, and delivery
  • Decreased labor time
  • Decreased need for pain medications during delivery
  • Increased ease and comfort during labor and birth

Will I be comfortable during the adjustments?
Pregnancy Through Chiropractic

Most definitely! We have special adjusting techniques specifically designed for pregnant moms at Touch Chiropractic, to make our care both comfortable and safe for you and your baby. Most pregnant moms eagerly anticipate their chiropractic visits, as they feel the difference in mobility and comfort that their adjustments bring as their pregnancy progresses.

How often should I get adjusted during my pregnancy?

As part of your new wellness routine in pregnancy, we recommend appointments every one to two weeks. This will allow your body to adapt to the rapid changes it is undergoing, and keep you comfortable, flexible, and better prepared for delivery.

Should I continue my other types of prenatal care while receiving chiropractic care?

Of course! Chiropractic care is not a replacement for any other type of health care. It is designed as a beneficial addition to your regular prenatal health routine.
